Eggert Pétursson
Eggert Pétursson has marked his place among the foremost contemporary artists and has raised international attention for his unique paintings of delicate plants in the wild nature of Iceland.
Eggert studied at the Reykjavik School of Visual Art from 1974 to 1978, at the Iceland College of Art and Crafts from 1976 to 1979 when he went to Holland to obtain his graduate degree from Jan Van Eyck Academie, Maastricht, in 1981.
Eggert has held many private and collective exhibitions through his career and holds numerous awards, i.e. the second prize in the Carnegie Art Awards in 2006.
